Until recently, North Korea has been showing signs of new economic reforms by abolishing ration system in a few state-owned companies, and reinforcing the autonomy of foreign investment companies. However, most North Korean observers do not see this move as a true economic reform.
If North Korea really wanted a reform, the North Korean authorities must first solve the food shortage problem through agricultural reform. But there is no signs of agricultural reform. They are only beating around bush by emphasizing socialism to its people through the state-owned media, and propagandizing Kim Jong-il method of the rogue regime.
